Tyburn

Pope Benedict mentioned Tyburn in his homily at the Vigil at Hyde Park.
Here is a video describing that place of execution. Many Catholics martyrs were horribly killed here, hung, drawn and quartered. May their prayers before the Lord give conversion, grace and assistance to us all!


Today a Benedictine Monastery of contemplative Nuns dedicated to Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is not far from the Tyburn Tree (as it is called...the gallows)...the relics of the Martyrs are venerated there and a replica of the gallows rests over the altar of the Tyburn Martyrs.
